Making waves within the carbon offsetting world is Path Net Zero — a new startup which is taking the Travel sector by storm with their new and intuitive carbon emissions calculator.

Cocoon was approached by Path Net Zero during mid-2022 to develop a technology-driven, data certified carbon emissions calculator to enable travel companies, airlines and tour operators to accurately calculate the carbon footprint and be precise in the required carbon offset.

This qualified data enables companies to actively participate in the sponsorship of world-leading gold standard offsetting programs. 

Alongside the portal, we also worked to build an API and SDK that enables businesses to embed calculators on their own website and calculate the cost of carbon offsetting by submitting a request to Path Net Zero. The SDK works by importing a JS file and initialising with an API token acquired through the customer portal and it allows the injection of custom CSS to completely style the calculator as required.

We worked with Path Net Zero to transform a series of complex spreadsheets of data into a user friendly carbon calculator as part of their new customer-facing portal. Built in Laravel and React, the portal enables users to create templates and calculators and submit them to Path Net Zero to offset them against a number of projects from the Gold Standard initiative.

Laravel Jetstream was used in conjunction with Inertia and Tailwind to build a modern progressive web app that works on all devices. We created an organisation system that allows administrators to invite other users and give them permission to edit, create, or delete calculators.
